Service Coverage

Ascend provides 7 days a week, 24 hours per day and 365 days service and support coverage to all our clients. Round-the-clock coverage aids our client hospitals and clinics in providing better patient care.

Turn Around Time (TAT)

Ascend meets each client's individual turn around time specifications and requirements by report type. Ascend guarantees TAT performance and provide rebates against non-compliance. Ascend provides a comprehensive TAT compliance management report each month to its clients.

Quality of Reports

Ascend transcribed reports meet the highest AAMT quality standards. Ascend guarantees quality performance of our transcribed reports. Ascend’s trained RHIA and CMT quality staff ensures accommodations of unique specialties and a diversity of authors for each of our clients. Ascend provides monthly Quality Assessment management report conforming to JCAHO guidelines.

Systems and Services

Ascend provides service coverage through its multiple network centers located around the country. This distributed network environment provides redundant backup for the round-the-clock service coverage. There are no on-site dictation systems. Authors dictate over toll-free 1-800 telephone lines, without any special equipment, from hospitals, clinics, their own practices or from home. Ascend’s multiple network centers with guaranteed 24-hour up-time provide uninterrupted dictation services to authors.

Ascend also offers download of dictation from client's on-site Dictaphone, Lanier, DVI, RTOS and other digital dictation systems.

Ascend provides a secure on-site delivery system that delivers reports in real-time. Ascend's on-site system is generally located in client's medical record department. Additional systems can be placed in ED/ER and other departments to support departmental delivery per client's request. The on-site delivery system maintains transcribed report database for the client's access.

Additionally, Ascend offers MPI/Demographics download interface in HL-7 or ASCII and incorporates demographics in all transcribed reports. Ascend also offer upload to Meditech, SoftMed, Arrendale, HBOC STAR and other HIS/HIM systems. Ascend's Microsoft Windows 2000 based advanced software technology offers significant flexibility of integration with HIS/HIM systems.

Compliance

Ascend offers Y2K compliant transcribed reports. Ascend network centers and on-site delivery systems are already Y2K compliant. Ascend also complies with HIPAA (electronic transfer and security), JCAHO (confidentiality and security), AAMT (quality and billing) and SmartCOUNT (billing) guidelines.

Pricing & Contract

Ascend offers unique pricing arrangement - Single firm, fixed rate for all report types. Per client request, our rates can be based per line, character, minute or report. Ascend pricing is all-inclusive - telecommunications charges, equipment and support are included in our rate. There are no incremental or hidden charges. Ascend offers multi-year, firm, fixed-price contracts easing the budgeting process for all our clients.
