Dictation

Ascend offers voice capture via various modes depending on client needs.

Ascend dictations receipt are cataloged and available for client view and desktop audio replay via SmartVOICE WEB portal. Ascend retains and archives voice files for future access for the length of the client agreement.

Document Delivery

Ascend deploys up to three different WEB platforms for document availability to the client based on client needs. Each WEB platform provides complete document data base, secured authorized user access, document edit, print and eFAX capability.

All Ascend delivery platforms are available to Ascend clients at no charge.


eSmart®
This WEB platform is tightly integrated with client’s on-site environment. The WEB platform permits delivery of the document, review of the document and automated upload to the client system such as McKesson HPF, Meditech, Keane, Softmed, Arrendale and others.
SmartMD®
This WEB platform is identical to eSmart except it operates at Ascend data center. In addition to secured WEB based database/data bank for the client, it provides quick access to documents by authorized HIM and physicians, review, edit, print and e-Signature.

PortalMD®
This WEB platform is the most advanced of the Ascend WEB platforms and it operates at Ascend data center. In addition to secured WEB based database/data bank for the client, it provides quick access to documents by authorized HIM and physicians, review, edit, print and e-Signature.


In addition Ascend platforms offer integrated document upload to the client’s HIS systems such as Meditech, McKesson, IDX, Keane, Cerner and others. Ascend platforms manage unique interface requirements of the HIS and EMR systems.

Service Deployment

Ascend service deployment entails several unique aspects. Ascend completely sets up its services in pre-production mode for client testing and operation. This phase permits Ascend’s clients to verify each element of the service work-flow prior to production.

Ascend does not charge for pre-production service set-up, testing and consulting with the client’s HIM and IS departments.
